Potato Drop LaCrosse UMC
On Saturday, March 12, 2005, thirty one individuals from the Farmville District participated in a Sweet Potato Drop at LaCrosse UMC in LaCrosse , VA. We helped bag the 42,340 pound load and then assisted in the loading of trucks for potato distribution. The Farmville District Southside Gleaning Network brought back 15,000 pounds of potatoes and distributed them in the following counties: Mecklenburg, Halifax, Nottoway, Lunenburg, Brunswick, Charlotte, and Prince Edward. Food was also distributed to individuals in Petersburg.
